hire you and put you through an undergraduate degree. For a higher paid position
which will have actually have benefits, like educational support, rather than
just an hourly task, you'll have to already have a degree. If you start working
right out of highschool, the job you get will be menial and probably consume
you. It is really hard to get a 4 year degree in 8 years of working 40+ hours
and going to school. Frankly, the vast majority who try, don't make
it.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

degree first. If you can do that, then the company who hires you may help you
get a Masters (~2 years in school, which will again take 2x or 3x times longer
than if you just stayed). Or even a PhD, (another ~2 years in school, which
will again take 3x or 4x times longer than if you just stayed). Again, many
people may start into that pipe. Very few people come out of it. Kids, Houses,
Mortgages, Cars, Hospital bills, even telephone bills, utilities and dogs and
cats, have a way of getting in the way. </SPAN></FONT></DIV>

class=250333219-14122006>Now the reaon to stay in state is a financial one.
Basically, it will cost 2x or more to go out of state. Or more. Even MUCH more.
To go to the good schools, you'll need good grades. You don't get to go to any
school you want. You only get to go to the schools that will take you. They look
at how good you did in High School, and make their predictions on how well you
will do at theirs. Your best schools, say like MIT or Stanford, etc., are going
to set you back about $40K a year. (Minimum wage works out to be around $12K a
year. Most high school grades who do really well can expect only about $20K a
year in a first job. So maybe you can see why the idea a company would even
consider paying 2x a guys salary in school benefits would seem outrageous to
them.)</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
