> My name is Mary Kay Kasal. I manage what we call a "Cyber Lab" for one of the Milwaukee Wisconsin Boys & Girls Clubs. My club is located in the heart of the poorest housing complexes in the city. One morning I woke and told my husband that I was done conquering the world and wanted to start working with young children who wanted to learn more about technology and computers. I have never looked back. Working with these kids has been a blessing of which I do not have the words to describe. I work with young children between the age of 6 and 18 teaching them basic computer concepts. As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with almost 15 years of experience as a Consultant, as interests deem, I sometimes teach more advanced concepts .

Currently, we are using the LEGO Robotics (version 1.5) Mindstorms kit to build the three basic robots (InventorBot, AcroBot, and RoboBot). Each club was given three basic kits and one Ultimate Accessory kit. Our teams are now at the programming point. This is where I need some help. Five of the Milwaukee clubs are going to compete in a contest in October. I need to come up with five "missions" (routines or programs) for each robot to complete and was wondering if you had any ideas for missions I could use... for each of the robots. This would mean 15 missions total and some of the missions could be the same. For example, one mission could involve keeping the robot inside a circle as outlined by a black line and perform basic functions while inside the circle. I know that this is a tall order and that you may not have any ideas but if you did, well I would most appreciate your help. Also, if this first basic contest works and some of our members remain as excited about robots as they are now, do you have any
links to organizations in the Midwest, in particular the Milwaukee area that I could link up with and maybe get some of my kids involved in???
