That's a discussion that's come up at the RBNO more than once. I think
it's interesting to compare homebrew robotics clubs like us to the old
homebrew computer clubs. Back then you had a build a computer if you
wanted one but eventually, it became easier to buy a computer. Most of
those clubs evolved in computer users groups. So one possibility is that
we'll someday be primarily a group of robot owners and robot customizers
instead of builders. I'm sure some people will always want to build
their own robot, just as some people still build their own computers,
cars, or house.
