I stopped by A-Kon around noon today and picked up my credentials. I ran
into Eric - he said Ed and Doug were around somewhere too. This is my
first time at A-Kon. The size of the thing is pretty amazing. There are
hundreds of people in crazy costumes wandering around everywhere. Mostly
anime but I saw a Ronanld McDonald and a Hamburgler as well as the usual
things like storm troopers and Star Gate characters.
As far as robot stuff, there are assorted anime robots and cyborgs and
Japanese robot toys. Eric said there were some battletech simulators
somewhere which are sorta kinda robot related. At 5pm this afternoon,
there is a panel discussion on advances in robotics. It's called
Robotics Part II so there was probably another one yesterday. Sounds
like something the DPRG ought to get in on next time around.
