The IR demodulator works too well at an angle. They have AGC circuits and other
voodoo to pluck weak signals out of the air. I need something that falls off
dramatically as the signal goes out of phase.

What would be the best detector for a red laser beam? CdS sensor? Photodiode?
Any other ideas along these lines?
