Ben,
Maybe someone can help you out.
I would, but no time beyond this reply!
Here are a few words.
0. Do the Tutorials -- Starting from Scratch.
1. Start a new simple design make sure you get expected results before
moving to complex design
2. Select Show (Eyeball) and click on wires to learn their Net Names
3. Use Name Command (Resistor with R2) to rename nets as needed
4. You can use supply library to put ground and power symbols on your
schematic then link to those.
Each has a unique net name.
5. Use the Net Command and NOT the WIRE command to make interconnections.
Command Icons have Hints so hover mouse over them -- since I did not
identify what WIRE and NET icons look like.
6. Some devices use INVOKE to bring power and ground connections out
7. you can have multiple ground and power nets, just name all that belong to
each a unique name.
If you connect to a defined supply symbol you can rename the net that it
and all other like symbols connect to.
8. I tend to save my design to ascending version numbers. Eagle does to
backups also.
If your schematic and board get out of sync it can be a pain to undo that
situation.
Good Luck.
Eagle is a cool package.
