DPRG & David,

Eleven entrants! Do I need to say more? Absolutely not, but I will
anyway... What an absolutely fantastic showing. Given the staged nature
of the event #1, #2, #3... etc to inspire interest over time, as well as
bettering one's own skills moving forward, combined with the thought put
into the nature of the contest course (no special equipment needed to test
in any open(ish) space) I suspect this one has staying power.

I am saddened that I was unable to make the trip, however it is unlikely
that my discontent is matched by that of the feeling and dirty looks that I
receive from ProtoBot ;-) I think it just wants to get out and play with
the other robots...

-Kenneth

Howdy,

Great DPRG robot event this weekend! Congratulations to all involved,
especially Ron and Ed for providing the_much_needed shade and water and
our videographers Ed and Scott and everyone with a camera. We'll get
pictures up as soon as we can. And special congratulations to everyone
that built and entered a robot and especially those recipients of the
coveted DPRG "WINNER" Gold Medals.

Eleven robots competed in three of the four outdoor challenges. Eric will
report on the indoor events. Here are the outdoor winners:

jBot was on hand to give a couple of demos of navigation and obstacle
avoidance and I together with some kids got to chase it around the
parking lot for the general entertainment of the folks in attendance.

You can tell by the scores above that we are well on our way to a fleet
of outdoor hobby robots! An impressive showing by all concerned.

best regards,
