Despite the long drive Out and Back (Dallas is definitely not a Quick
Trip for us), both my wife and I had a great time. I neglected to mark
our exact starting location, but I think we made it back within a few
feet despite a multitude of moving obstacles encountered along the way.

Since I can't easily make it to the regular meetings or RBNO, I
particularly liked the slower pacing of the outdoor contest, despite the
hot sun. As each robot had its turn on the course, there was plenty of
time to chat with the other builders (either following the robot, or
hiding from the sun on the sidelines). Each contest I learn a few more
name/face pairings.

Someone (I think Robert Scheer) had asked about Teeter-Totter's switching
power supply. It's a Murata NEF0100501B0C, which can supply 5V at up to
10A (assuming you've got the airflow to keep it from melting down) from an
8V-14V input. I believe I claimed Saturday that it was only a 20W module,
but I'll blame that on Mouser's website which links to the wrong
datasheet. In any case, Mouser sold it to me for $15.05.

Thanks to everyone that organized and ran the contests, as well as those
that donated prizes.

  Erik
