Eric,
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE POLY-EURETHANE (No, I can't
spell worth a ********). I found out the hard way that stuff is a poor
conductor! It will definitely short out your board!!!!!

On the boards that I had made for my thesis, I have a metal-can
oscillator and a couple of metallic heatsinks. To save money, I
didn't have a soldermask put on the boards; what is the best way to
prevent these metal components from shorting out the traces that run
underneath them?
