Hello DPRG...

I thought I would take a minute to follow up with a pair of photos.

I drove over to the Chicago Area Robotics hosting of the Robo-Magellan event
a few weekends past... As always when robotics enthusiasts get together,
there is fun to be had.

The two photos, below are of the course they are using for Robo-Magellan.
The first is of the start box for the course. I have emphasized the square
of red bricks by exaggerating the red to make it stand out. The robot can
start from any point in this square. I then turned 180-deg and snapped the
photo of the finish point. The finish cone is on the back side of the hill
in the distance (see the yellow arrow)

The easy bonus cone is around to the right behind the large circular mound
outlined by the cement step, visible in the 2'nd photo. The hard bonus
cone is much further back around that circular mound where it squeezes in
next to a building. ~10ft wide.

If one wanted to go the short way around the large circular mound they would
have to navigate either A) up a small flight of shallow stairs, or B)
driving sideways along a significant slope only ~4ft wide around the edge of
the mound...

Anyway, I thought the group might appreciate seeing the course they are
running on. I would not have thought of this ahead of time, but one of the
best course features was the ample shade spread along the way without having
too much undergrowth for the robots to contend with on their first years'
attempts.
