Eric,
One thing nice about RCL library is that you can do Change Package command
which brings up a dialog that lets you quickly select new package so you can
bounce from selecting through hole to any SMD size in a flash.
One thing I did not figure out about Eagle for a while was copying
components on your schematic is way easier and quicker than using the Add function.
So once you have a resistor, you can make copies and do package changes as
needed.
One thing that would be nice would be the ability to define a net class
which includes trace width, but somehow connect components with a different net
class, but on the same net, e.g. If i connect an LED to a ground trace that is
0.080" wide I only need a 0.010" trace running to LED.
Of course you can change width after board has been routed, but what a pain.
I end up creating little jumper pads between beefy ground/ power traces and
lesser ground and power traces.
