The Twin Cities Robotics Club has done robot panel discussions and
demonstrations at local science fiction conventions for years. They are
fun and easy to do. Give some thought to announcing info about your club
at the end of the talk or have hand outs for potential new members.

All,
Recently we were contacted by Todd Carlton, Stage Manager of All-Con
(Sci-Fi / Costume Festival) to have a table and do panel discussions at
their conference in Addison March 7,8,9 (Fri-Sun)
Your club officers cooked up a plan where we would offer unmanned /
semi-manned table with DVD loop of robots / contests / what we do and do 2
panel discussions (we should have schedule in a day).
This falls on 2nd Saturday so we will cancel the monthly meeting and round
up as many as 10 people who would be willing to spend some time attending a
table (e.g. doing robot demos...) Beyond that number entrance fee is $15.

Since we have many members with interests in sci-fi, might be good to get
out and spread some of the DPRG word and to have some fun too.
We need to put someone in charge of rounding up some commitments.
Also, Feel free to respond here -- OR -- contact whoever we get signed up
to sign up attendees.
I promised to do at least one talk, showing off robots / computer
graphics..

>From Todd:
2008 is our forth annual event at All-Con. We're a
community participation convention with a myriad of participants ranging
from the denizens of the Scarborough Faire Renaissance Festival to
Assassination City Women's Roller Derby League. The Star Wars stormtrooper
costuming
group is having their annual meeting here as is the Battlestar Galactica
fan group.
Cartoon watching, costume wearing, Anime fans are in no shortage. Pretty
much it's a
free-for-all of interests.
Our charter charges us with the tasks of
entertainment and of education. After spending nearly an hour going
through your
website, it appears that your members have a bit of both already
incorporated into their activities.
-------------------------------------------------------
Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.
