All,
Hey just wanted to thank everyone who came out to Saturdays meeting at the
warehouse.
I know that Ed Paradis, our new club secretary (Thanks Ed!), will have the
points discussed and summary of what was show off...
Not trying to do any of your job, Ed...
Doug Emes (not Evens!) inherited the library giant mess as new club
librarian.
Glenn Pipe new VP -- will leave him alone for a while after doing such a
nice job on last contest!
Of course the ever present Martin Meier as Treasurer -- be nice to him -
(only I am permitted to abuse him)
Steve Rainwater as ever present Webmaster -- thanks Steve!
We did not see Kip Moravec. Hope you, Kip, will hang in there as postmaster
- Thanks!
Thanks also, to departing President, Eric Sumner -- who is taking on spring
contest coordination.
We missed Dale Wheat departing VP -- hope to see you soon,Dale.
A big thanks to all our Members who are spread across the country / world.
You membership contribution help us sustain our cause -- also to those
members/and not who contribute to DPRGlist -- very nice!
One thing that was discussed just a bit outside the meeting was navigating
Eric's proposed new
"Conetest". In particular was weaving the cones.
My hope is that during then next few RBNOs we spend at least a little time
playing with some beacon ideas so that we might present them at the next
meeting.
Of course some odometry discussion in coming months will be great too.
We attracted some new attendees and would be great to get all of us moving
in the direction of participating in the next contest.
The warehouse (DPRG Clubhouse) worked well for the meeting. We need to adapt
the best arrangement for tables and chairs for the meeting and also for
demos and discussions after. Was really nice to have no time constraints after
the meeting and their were many conversations that followed. With that said, I
would like to continue holding monthly meetings at the clubhouse for the
next few months to continue a trial of the space. As always, our gratitude to
Mike Dodson for providing us the clubhouse space.
Looking forward to a great year!
Let's have some fun furthering our knowledge and interest in the field of
robotics and in sharing our knowledge with others.
Ron Grant
DPRG President
**************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape.
