I don't know if you guys follow this sort of thing but Parallax has been
moving forward on their outdoor robot fleet project...

A friend of mine turned me on to this project in the works quite some number
of months back before it was widely public knowledge and I've been digging
out data snippets here and there...
One of these would instantly offer up a heavy duty - out door - off road
chassis for robotics enthusiasts who want to focus on sensors, software,
navigation or other aspects of robotics rather than the design and
fabrication aspects that stop many up front...
