Thanks for this great information! I bought a WCC100 some time ago
(at Fry's, for about $100.00), and it's still my primary soldering
iron for large rework.
I bought it as a hobby iron, but it's so good that I usually take it
to work with me to use during the week if I need it. (I have another
iron for teeny-weeny surface mount stuff, but the WCC100's the
workhorse for thru-hole components or getting lots of heat on a solder
joint quickly.) It's been in constant use for about 10 years, I'd
guess.
If it ever breaks, I'll definitely want to repair it. I'm going to
save a copy of your message in case this ever happens. Again, many
thanks!
