[DPRG] DC Voltage drop

I was working on my flying robot last night ;) in hopes of bringing to the
meeting today, but ran into a bit of a problem. I want to run it with
some 18v batteries that I have an abundance of, but the max input voltage
for the brushless ESC's that I have is 16.8v. So I need a way to get a
1.2v drop, but it needs to be able to supply the 36 Amps for the ESC.
About the only thing I can think of is a couple of large diodes in series
to get a 1.4v drop. Will that work? Does anyone have any diodes that big
they want to part with? Of course the right thing to do would be to buy
the $500 batteries and the $500 charger they sell for electric
helicopters, but my wife doesn't agree with me. She thinks I have spent
too much already on the motors and ESC's, so I was looking for a cheaper
alternative.
