Any rules of thumb for sizing motors for a robot?
Right now I am thinking about a tracked RoboMagellan type robot so weight is
25-50 lbs. This would use two motors. Drive sprockets in the range of 1-2"
diameter. Roughly figuring a 30 rpm gear motor with a 2" drive sprocket will
provide 15 feet per minute top speed. Not that it will run that fast most
the time.
