What robot could do better on a rugged, uneven outdoor course than the Boston Dynamics quadriped?

I was planning to program the possible routes for the Outdoor Robot Challenge and then select which one to use at contest time. Is Challenge 1 going to be from point 1 to point 2 and return? What will be the azimuth for Challenge 3 or do I need to be able to enter it at the contest? I am assuming that the azimuths in the contest description are true not magnetic.
