I believe that the newly updated information on the DPRG web page at:
<http://www.dprg.org/competitions/outdoor/index.html>
is wrong.
Here are the coordinates listed listed on that web page for the contest,
plotted on google earth:
<http://www.geology.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/uhaul/tsp_coords_wrong2.png>
and here are the coordinates that Glenn posted last week, also plotted on
google earth:
<http://www.geology.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/uhaul/tsp_coords_right1.png>
Glenn's numbers match the map and description on the DPRG contest web page,
while the numbers posted on that web page do not.
For comparison, here is an image with both sets of coords:
<http://www.geology.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/uhaul/tsp_coords_both.png>
As the coordinates on the web page are not correct, so the calculations of
distance and bearing based on those coordinates are also not correct.
I seem to remember we went through this same confusion last time around, and
I'll bet a search of the dprglist from will turn up the corrected coords and
distances and bearings to each target.
best,
