I have been facing this problem recently and am really interested in
what the final concrete solution might be.

My microcontroller resets everytime both of my motors (12VDC at 1A) start
simultaneously.
This process is repeatable.

If any one of the motors is disconnected, the microcontroller may or
may not reset.

This however does not occur when I power my robot with a beefy lab
regulated power supply but the above observations are guaranteed if I
am using a 400W ATX SMPS or 7805/7815 based PSU to power my bot.

The power supply sags momentarily ?

If so what are the solutions ? Optoisolation ?

No other way out ?

It's all foggy in here :(
