Hi David,

Some of the motor responses that you describe sound like
the motors are perhaps not geared down enough.  PID can't
really be used in the place of torque.  

Can you give some specifics?  What sort of motors, gear
reduction, etc?

Also a snippet of the PID or PD code you are running would
be useful.  Are you using PID to control position or
velocity?
