Howdy,
Nice event this weekend at the Allen Library, about a dozen kids from
maybe 6 to 16, lots of robots running around, a good time had by all.
Kudos to Scott for setting this up.
Vectoring back for a moment to Will's observations concerning robot behavior,
we seem to have wandered off into the weeds by using the word "emotion" in
this context, as is perhaps inevitable. That's why I'd like to find a different
word. Here's the original query:
> Anybody else coding similar emotional/harmonal layers above the basic subsumption
> machine on your robot? Thoughs?
Anybody else wrting robot code that is basically the behavior-based or "subsumption"
architecture, while adding a supervisor or monitor layer above that to control weights
and ordering of the lower level behaviors?
best,
dpa
