Howdy,

Here are some images from The Science Place of the floor
in the lobby. I thought they might be useful for visualizing
how the space can be used as a real-world robot environment.

Here are the inner planets:

<http://geology.heroy.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/tsp/planets.jpg>

The ecliptic and the constallation of Scorpius:

The ecliptic passing through the constallation of Orion:

The ecliptic is about 3 inches wide:

Here's SR04 calibrating line-following sensors and attempting to line follow
on the ecliptic (10M mpg):

<http://geology.heroy.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/tsp/sr04_ecliptic_m1.mpg>

Note that these line following sensors are just a pair of CdS cells with a couple
of white LEDs for illumination, the same setup SR04 uses for the DPRG line following
contest, unmodified. Seem to work ok on the TSP reflective floor. Folks using
similar technology will might not have any problems, as well as those like David
Wilson using cameras for line detection.

Here LegoBot travels through interplanetary space from Earth to Uranus and back home (11M mpg):

SR04 travels from Sirius to Hydra to retrieve a Space Pod and return it to Sirius orbit, while
avoiding Space Creatures (14M mpg):

LegoBot follows the wall from the lobby to the View Space Theatre (formerly the Lucent Lab),
where the DPRG meets. It turns out to be locked (83M mpg):

<http://geology.heroy.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/tsp/legobot_wall_follow_m1.mpg>

Here's a shorter excerpt of LegoBot's trip through the East entry hall (23M mpg):

<http://geology.heroy.smu.edu/~dpa-www/robots/dprg/tsp/legobot_wall_follow_ex_m1.mpg>

SR04 takes the Great Reconfigureable Human Wall Challenge with the help of
some friends from Girl's Inc. (Thanks for the help Girls!) He's attempting to
get to a spot just eight feet on the other side of the Great Wall (20M mpg):
