Howdy,

I think this is at the root of R.Brooks insistence that robots be
developed and evaluated in the realworld, versus simulators or
artificial environments.
To quote a robots.net review (cough,cough) of "Cambrian Intelligence:"

> world as necessary elements for any artificial intelligence, robotic
> and otherwise, to succeed, and offers examples from his own work at
> the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in evidence.

This is the problem I see with the DPRG contests as they are currently
configured, with the exception of the Long Haul competition.
