Thanks for the suggestion!!  I had thought of the 555 but not coupling it
with a digital pot!  Would you have any suggestions as to one that works off
of 5 volts?  I am trying real hard not to get to many different power
supplies going here.  Right now I only have 5vdc and the motor supply.
