Hi Everyone,
I've figured out a lot more about the Hot Wheels radar gun this week.
I've traced out the analog front end and figured out how to reprogram
the Atmel ATMEGA88 on the control module.
I can also drive the multiplexed LCD display, which took a while to figure out.

The page also has more info since the last post involving chirps and
other radar-y goodness.
I've been discussing pulse stretching circuits with a gentleman in
England, and I'll let the list know when I've got a radar range
finder.
These units are still available at Walmart for $30. Considering you
get a four digit numeric LCD display and the radar waveguide, it is
probably a good deal.
