[DPRG] Bio inspired robotic feet

Sanjay - thanks for the link. Some of the climbs have been on YouTube for a
while but this site is a treat.

The Dragonfly watches me type. An indoor climber would be fun but I'd be
tempted to give it a dust rag and new light bulbs.

This is what I'm working on right now. Full is an excellent speaker.
Since that talk, another robot (Stickybot) was developed that can
climb glass with dry adhesives. It made some minor news last year.
RiSE, the main climbing robot, is moving along nicely and we're
currently doing some tree-climbing experiments. Last year it made a
4-story untethered climb up a building in San Antonio. There's more
info on this stuff at

The collaboration between the biologists and engineers is proving very
fruitful. Who knows, maybe some of this stuff will be available as
toys one day. Have you seen the Flytech Dragonfly?
