I have no experience, but based on some simple theory,
I believe that the 800 pound load will require a
gearmotor that can supply 84 foot-pounds of torque at
all speeds from zero to 2 RPM. This assumes that the
load is uniformly distributed throughout the 4 ft
radius disk; that the acceleration is constant
(constant torque) from 0 to 2 RPM; that the power
required to accelerate the motor armature/rotor
inertia equals that required by the load; and includes
no alowance for load friction. The 600 pound load
would require about 40 foot-pounds.
