Jesse,
Brilliant! What an elegant solution! It looks as if it fits perfectly. What
would it cost to produce a kit? Motors with encoders are usually so
expensive. I built, and am still using, something similar.

Robotics Connection sells something very similar.

Hello All,
After several inquires I have put together a web page to share my
encoder solution for the Tamiya Twin-Motor Gearbox. The sensor
implementation came together after reading David Anderson's "Home-
Brew Shaft Encoders..." article in the the SRS Encoder Newsletter.
The web page can be found at http://www.noplabs.com/twinmotor/
twinmotor.html
It's a new page, just put it together today, so let me know if you
have questions or comments.
Thanks,
Jesse
