I have been playing around with a commercial de-sulfate (from 
Northern Tools) for a few years.

I had a load of 12V 13AH SLA Hawker batteries - I use them in combat robotics.

I have successfully rejuvenated about a dozen, but it took over a 
month on the charger.  The good news is that it works as well with 4 
batteries at a time as with a single.
