Yep, this would be the BEST Robotics Competition that you've heard about,
which is typically for high schools, and sometimes junior high.  I competed
in the competition in my junior and senior year in high school and it was
some of the most fun I've ever had.  Now I'm a sophomore at UT - Austin, and
I mentored a BEST team at a high school here 6 weeks ago and they had their
competition last weekend.  The main website for the BEST competition (for
all the hubs) is www.bestinc.org and the website for your local Dallas hub
would be: http://www.dallas-best.org/ (This site has directions) The
competition starts at 9am and will probably last until about 4pm.  I'd
definitely encourage getting involved - it was some of the most fun I had in
high school.  Check if your school has a team, and if not, you can start one
pretty easily (no cost to school) through the Dallas BEST website.
