Was pretty interesting Randy, had a few robots in each category, no Can Can
competitors, though a couple had claws on to think about the attempt. I
think 4 of 5 Tini prizes were claimed, and there was some curiosity about
how to receive the new micro, whether TiniPod, Tini2131, TiniAVR, Tini2106,
Tini430, or Tini2138. I'd suggested contacting New Micros with any
questions, we'd get it put together.
I believe there were 14 robots present, with 11 of those competing, from 9
robot builders. Charlie Youngblood did a great job of setting up and as MC
of the event. Unfortunately in the preperations, their robot that Caleb was
to run got left home. Some really cool trophies were laser cut by Ron Grant,
to award for the various places in addition to the certificates and prizes.
There were some unique ( and creepy like Zombarbie, by Frank ) robots
performing, from Lego creations ( David M had a robot that flipped along the
line, and a transmission change robot ) to a well put together blue trike
robot with camera, to a robot that appeared to be for the birds ( Sheilas
Turkeybot ), to the wandering wooden artforms performing in the contests and
without..
There were a number of folks around the tables helping out with and in the
contest, and an audience in a line up the stairs overlooking the contest
area, with some adventurous enough to ask about the various robots being
worked on to be entered.
Sadly an inopportune cellphone call occuring in robot testing at the start
of the contest, gave chance for my running little Arobot to take a
nose-dive off the table, sending batteries everywhere. Unfortunately
attempts at resuscitation failed and Arobot was awarded the "My Robot Fried"
award, with a very appropriate trophy ( laser cut and melted by Ron )
received.

Well, do we have a final count? Can some one fill us in on how it turned
out?

David,
Good luck on your query.
I have seen 2 people respond and 15 robots show up.
