I'd vote for no size and weight limitations.

Keep it simple, and based around the robots that
folks already have (i.e., Ed and Kenneth already
have +200 lbs robots.  

(and Kenneth's is WAY COOL!!!  Please don;t exclude his
robot from the activity!)

I'd suggest that, especially for this first contest, that
contestants be able to touch their robots (i.e., get them
unstuck) with some sort of penalty for each time, rather than
just end the run if the robot gets stuck.  Then the robot can
continue on it's way to other challenges, which is  a lot more
fun than starting over, and fun is, I think the main point of
all of this.
