My idea of a good time for an outdoor course would be like the
Robomagellan theme I see at other clubs. A good long run,
perhaps 100 ft minimum and prefereably 100 yeards. Waypoints,
yes. The waypoints should be chosen so the obstacles have to be
dealt with, and my sense of being dealt with would be to go
around, rather than over or through. The course should be no
tougher than you'd be willing to take a push mower around.

I am deeply engrained by hiking and backcountry philosophy here.
A bromide that always sticks with me is; "Never step on
something you can step over. Never step over anything you can
easily step around." So it seems to me if our robots can
circumnavigate a hedge which would be a pretty big deal
obstacle, they're pretty smart. If they decide to push through
it, or hop over it, they're (potentially) pretty destructive.
