Well it looks to me like the OWI six legged soccer robot (kit) would have a
decided advantage here. Making it autonomous wouldn't be difficult either.

You can sort of get the idea of the rules by running the URL through
http://world.altavista.com/ . The "arena" is about a 160 by 160 cm space
with 25 cm clear walls, 35 cm corner posts, all on a 180 cm by 180 cm
surface. Robots can be 20 cm to 120 cm tall (Asimo would qualify, but that's
a pretty small arena for that robot), with a fair amount of definition of
what is a bipedal walker, any biped can enter now (must pick up feet,
bending and stretching, eventual use of human dimension ratios). Some
definitions may change as more and more robots compete, also with the
possible addition of obstacles, use of stairs. They allow either autonomous
or remote control: radio, IR or sound, prefer PCM radios. No apparent rule
yet about suction cup feet, but that would seem less then normal bipedal
type. No damaging weapons (saws, blinding opponent), or liquids or powders
or zapping devices or fire. The match consists of a 1 minute demo of how
each robot works individually, then best 3 out of 5 1 minute rounds, 2
minutes between rounds for adjustments, decision of match based on round
scores and the demonstration score. Also, the robot has a 10 count to get
up if possible to continue to fight. Scoring seems to be pretty arbitrary,
but basically, if the robot is fairly active and doesn't fall/get knocked
down, it wins the round.
I guess if Nbot could pick up one wheel then the other for moving, then it
might qualify. : )
