Hi guys,
I got the pittman encoder board files (eagle format) and PS\EPS of the board
and silk-screen uploaded to http://robostuff.com/dprg/jeffrey_birt . The
Hamamatsu.lbr file is included so those of you with Eagle should (I think)
be able to use these files. The -nr2 is the latest update (just did it
tonight) I also included the older -nr version which is the only one I have
made a board of yet. The -nr2 version moved some components away from the
mounting holes and has the traces only connecting at the long end of the
pads on the photosensors. I couldn't seem to get the .dxf file of the
encoder disk uploaded, It didn't seem to like that extension. I will get it
up as soon as I can.
This board mounts the sensors in line (180 deg. apart) and uses a split
phase encoder disk. The board is single sided with the traces on the top.
The P5587 photosensors and lead wire holes get drilled but are top soldered
and trimmed flush on the back. I have tried drilling the holes for the
P5587's with a #78 bit (0.016") but the fit is too tight. Something on the
order of 0.020" would be better. The resistors and caps are 1206 size. The
board is intended to mount to the back of the motor via three 4-40 screws.
I was going to use socket head screws but I think pan head screws might set
lower. Some means of extending the rear motor shaft must be used and the
encoder disk fastened to it. I ground out the head of a 4/40 allen screw
and super glued it to the rear motor shaft. I will add some photos of
the -nr2 rev boards and mounting soon.
