The 2 walking robot contests will be held at the October meeting. Both will be run
on a shortened Quick-Trip course. The distance from Area A to Area B will be 8
feet rather than 16 feet; the turnaround areas will still be 4 feet deep.
There will be 2 races, 1 Way (A to B) and Round Trip (A to B to A)
These robots are intended to imitate walking creatures. Walking creatures do not
have rotating body parts that touch the ground. The robots should also not have
rotating body parts that touch the ground.
Proposed scoring system:
Remote start 5 points
Get to Area B 15
Return to Area A 15 (Round trip only)
Best time 20
Second best time 15
Third best time 10
Touch a wall -5
Stop when finished 5
Return to same spot 5 (Round trip only)
See you at the meeting on September 8 at Bill Priest.
I'll bring the courses; will we have a space to set them up?
Who's bringing the name tags?
