Hi all!
After lot's of fiddling, which was complicated by my two year old
being scared by my little robot. C.D. Rombot has IR eyes. Most
facinating was the lack of dectection of dark objects. I was also
surprised at the somewhat narrow field of vision.
I used the 74HC04 circuit found on the SRS web site. The IR led's
are mounted in pieces of aluminum tubing. The led tubes are mounted
directly to the sides of Sharp sensor. I am wondering now if anyone had
set up a test 'jig' to try and determin optimal led placement (both
distance from sensor and angle). Could be interesting.
