Actually, the files that I have been sending in PostScript are just
that, raw PostScript. What I'm doing is using PCWrite which allows
me to do graphics characters easily, and then I edit my PostScript file
to add my layout using the graphics characters. The PostScript program
will interpret those graphics characters and then it draws
a nice PCB. If you can read postscript code, then just browse through
it and you'll see what I did. There's a data block where it's
just a bunch of graphics characters. If anyone were to use an editor
like PCWrite to edit that data block, then they too could layout their
own single sided pcb for etching. I doubt anyone would want to do it,
though, because most people are afraid of PostScript, and you could only
use this method for acid etching (you can't send this to a professional).
So if you want to use my PostScript file that I wrote from scratch
and make your own PCB, then feel free to do so (so yep, it's freeware!!!).
I guess I'm peculiar doing things like this, but hey, such is the spice
of life. Maybe someday, I'll write a java program that will output
a postscript file, a gerber file, and a nc drill file, but at the moment,
I really have little free time, and that would take bunches of free time.
