I played with the idea of using the servo motor and head assembly as a
way of spinning a sensor platform (the head assembly includes a high
quality slip-ring that will pass about 8 signals through to the head).
The trouble I ran into was figuring out how to drive the motor itself.
I never found any spec sheets that matched the motor I had... I still
think it's a great idea for a low-cost, high-speed, scanner platform.
