Hello, fellow roboters
I have been repairing a lot of VCR's lately and scrapping a lot more. With
most VCR's there is at least 3 regular survo motors with belt or gear drives,
these are very usefull for Robotic joints were torque is needed, also many
usefull IC's, transistors, diodes.
On most frount panels of VCR's are lots of small micro switches which are
good for microprocessor reset buttons. Threre is also about 1 to 4 optical
switches and gear driven rotory switches, these are good for position sensors
for joints.
And if you can get a VCR with a remote control, you can remove the IR sensor
>from the VCR frount panel pc board and use it for a IR remote control link to
your robot project.
I get a lot of VCR's from a thrift store I do volunteer for and in most
thrift stores they cost from $5 to $25 each I have seen.
