The Dallas Personal Robotics Group is basically a bunch of guys that
are interested in personal robotics and we meet regularly to chat about
them.  We meet at the Infomart in Dallas at I35 and OakLawn during the
Super Saturday Event put on by the DFW-Xchange Corp.  The next meeting is
February 8th at 12pm in room 1061.  You can find a list of upcoming meeting
dates on the DPRG web page at:  http://www.dprg.org .  
DPRG has been around since 1984.  Membership is $20 a year.  You are welcome
to come and sit in on the meetings.

One of the planned upcoming events is a robotics contest in May.  The
contest consists of just getting an "autonomous" robot to get from one
end of the room to the other and back.  There'll be prizes.  You can find
